The Magnet

The Magnet opened in February 2019 as a micropub in the heart of Broadstairs. Its name nods to The Magnet, the boys’ story paper best known for Billy Bunter, linking the pub with the town’s literary connections. Owners Will and Sam created a small independent pub centred around beer, cider and conversation.
Inside, exposed brick and warm wooden seating give the room plenty of character. A bottle chandelier is one of the more unusual features, while the large front windows keep the space bright. The room is compact but comfortable, with the bar running along one side and plenty of detail around the walls.
Beer: 4 real ales alongside ciders and keg beers.
Opening: Mon–Thu 12:00–22:30; Fri–Sat 12:00–23:00; Sun 12:00–22:00.
