Where Else to Explore in Kent?

Kent is a fantastic place to explore for anyone who enjoys micropubs, with everything from coastal towns to historic market centres packed with welcoming little bars and taprooms. It’s also the birthplace of the micropub movement itself, with the very first micropub in Britain — the Butcher’s Arms in Herne — opening in 2005 under landlord Martyn Hillier. Since then, Kent has become one of the best counties in the country for micropub culture, with places like Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Faversham and Maidstone all offering a great mix of traditional alehouses, modern craft beer spots and friendly community pubs.
