The Firkin Alehouse was Folkestone’s first micropub, opening in 2012. It has moved twice since then, first from No. 18 to No. 20 Cheriton Place in 2017 and then across the road to its current home at No. 21 in 2022.
Inside, the front has high stools and tables, while the rear snug is softer with armchairs and sofas. Beer is kept in a temperature-controlled cellar room and served straight from the cask.
Beer: Up to four changing cask ales, often including a Kent brewery, alongside several real ciders.
Opening: Mon–Wed 12:00–19:00; Thu 12:00–20:00; Fri–Sat 12:00–21:00; Sun 12:00–18:00.
