BUY ME A PINT
The Raven
First call of the day was to “The Raven”, situated not far from Glasgow Queen Street station and owned by Cold Town Beer in Edinburgh.

A selection of their own beers on Keg (aswell as Cans), aswell as 6 guest keg lines and 3 beers on cask. Went with their own New England IPA on Keg, followed by Black Isle – Yellowhammer on Cask.

Now back onto the train up to Milngavie to visit Jaw Brew.

Jaw Brew
A fantastic bar and brewery if you get chance to come up this way (around 25 minutes out of Glasgow on the train). A small brewery which brews mainly for their own bar, and its really handy being situated literally just outside the train station.

Had a brewery tour hooked here. Alec the head brewer showed me around and it was great to see the differences between a small brewery and a large brewery, including their own bottling machine.

Back to the bar after the brewery tour to try their beers. 4 on Keg and 2 on Cask. The tour included a half of them all.

Really well worth a trip up here if youve not been before just to grab a couple of beers. All the beers I sampled were really good and would recommend to anyone. Back onto the train after here, and change at Partick for the Subway to Kelvinbridge. Nice to see the car painted for the Subways 120th Anniversary on my train aswell.

Inn Deep
A revisit here from Monday. I was told they had an Overtone Brewery Tap Takeover on this evening with a couple of new sours “Soor Ploom” and “Apri-Pop”. Both worth calling back in for (and the lovely setting by the River Kelvin).

Back onto the Subway again, back to Partick this time to catch a train to Charing Cross.

Bon Accord
A short stroll over the road to Bon Accord, another traditional Scottish bar and very busy on a Friday night.

Up to 10 Cask Ales on here and a wide range of cans from local breweries. Went for “Real Smiler” from Clearwater Brewery in Bideford, Devon.

State Bar
Heading back towards Central Glasgow bring you to the State Bar. It is listed by CAMRA as a pub with Outstanding Conversions and Restorations. It has a large central bar, with a great map of the Glasgow area on the ceiling.

A choice of 6 cask beers here, some local and some further afield. Decided on “Stewart Brewing – State No 3”, a really nice beer.
