BUY ME A PINT
First call of the day was to Crich Tramway Village, train to Alfreton to change for the bus to Crich.

Red Lion Hotel
Situated in The Tramway Village at Crich is the Red Lion Hotel. The Red Lion originally stood opposite the Potteries Electric Traction Tramway Depot in Stoke-on-Trent. It was demolished in the early 1970’s but the facade was carefully taken down brick by brick by members of the Tramway Society and was eventually rebuilt at Crich using original materials wherever possible and reopened in 2002 at a cost of £500,000. It’s now just one of the buildings that line the street and provide an authentic setting for the street tramway cars.

A cask ale available here from Howard Town Brewery and some bottles from Silver Brewhouse (as Industrial Ales)

After here headed back towards Alfreton to get the train back towards Sheffield, getting off at Dronfield.

Drone Valley Brewery
Bus trip towards Unstone from Dronfield Train Station for Drone Valley Brewery. The brewery itself is community owned with staff all volunteers and money put back into the community for good causes.

Five cask ales available here, along with a selection of their own bottles. Took my time going through the range and all were exceptional. Great marquee outside with seating and lighting (and the heaters which came in useful today with the changing weather). A really great place to visit if you are in the area.

Dronfield Arms
Back on the bus into Dronfield now, first stop being the Dronfield Arms. This was Dronfields first brewpub in 2015 with the “Hopjacker” Brewery. It has since been replaced with the “Templer” Brewery in late 2021.

Great selection of 4 cask ales, along with a wide range of keg craft beers. Had to try one of their own beers brewed by “Temper – Valleys”, a 5.2% Pale Ale. Really delicious!

The Beer Stop
Last call of the day was to The Beer Stop, just down the road from the train station. Primarily a bottle/can shop, which also serves 4 keg beers to drink in the shop (or outside at the front)

Tried a couple of cans from Cloudwater, and a can from Saint Mars of the Dessert, a new brewery from Sheffield for me. Nice to sit in chatting with the owner and regulars in here. Definitely one to visit again!
