The Greedy Banker

A 1 minute walk from Cleveleys Tram Stop to The Greedy Banker located at Victoria Square, Cleveleys, Thornton-Cleveleys FY5 1AY – Google Maps

The Greedy Banker sits in one of Cleveleys’ most recognisable buildings. It began life as an HSBC bank, right on the corner of Victoria Square. After the bank closed, the building stood empty for a while and was even used briefly as a furniture shop. In 2025, it was carefully transformed into a bar, part of a wider change where old banks found new life as social spaces. Today, it keeps that solid, historic shell, but inside it’s all warmth, drinks, and people gathering—proof that even serious old buildings can start again.

Inside, it’s bright and relaxed, with big front windows letting in plenty of light across an open-plan room. Exposed brick walls, soft fairy lights and bold, colourful pendant shades give it character, while the dark ceiling and industrial fittings add a modern edge. Wooden tables and padded chairs keep it comfortable and easy to settle into, whether you’re in a group or tucked into a corner. Out back, a high-walled roof terrace offers a sheltered, sunny space, with neat tables, colourful seating and a touch of greenery—perfect for a quiet drink when the weather plays along and you want fresh air.
