About Aldridge
Aldridge is an old settlement east of Walsall and appears in the Domesday Book as Alrewic, meaning Alder village. It remained largely agricultural for centuries before canals, railways, coal mining and brickmaking helped it grow during the 19th century. Today the centre is compact and easy to explore on foot, while regular buses link it with Walsall.
