Sheffield Tap

Sheffield Tap

Sheffield Tap is the Sheffield stop on the Sheffield to Retford Rail Ale Trail, built into Sheffield railway station itself. The restored former refreshment rooms give the pub plenty of railway character, while the beer range includes a large cask choice alongside keg and bottled beer. It makes an easy starting point before catching the train east.

About Sheffield

Sheffield grew into one of Britain’s major industrial cities through its long association with cutlery, steelmaking and metalworking. The railway became an important part of that growth, and today Sheffield station remains a major gateway to the city centre. The trail begins here before following the line east towards Woodhouse, Kiveton, Shireoaks, Worksop and Retford.
