The Mallard

The Mallard is located on Worksop Railway Station Platform 1 – Google Maps
The Mallard, situated at Worksop Railway Station, is a one-of-a-kind venue that beautifully blends the allure of a classic pub with contemporary amenities. The original station was opened in 1849, designed by Sheffield architects Weightman & Hadfield, and was built by local builder James Drabble. This charming spot was originally one of the station’s refreshment rooms, part of an extension to the original station completed in 1901. It is a friendly gathering place for both residents and travellers alike. As you step into The Mallard, you’ll be welcomed by a cosy and inviting ambiance. The interior boasts a warm design, showcasing traditional décor that pays homage to its history while seamlessly integrating modern comforts. The layout features a quaint bar area where patrons can enjoy drinks and mingle, fostering a friendly environment perfect for conversation.
A unique aspect of The Mallard Inn is its no-phones policy, aimed at encouraging face-to-face interactions among guests. This rule allows for engaging discussions without the interruptions of mobile devices, and many visitors find this approach enhances the relaxed and welcoming vibe.
Drink Offerings – 4 Real Ales on hand-pull plus a range of keg beers, ciders and other options. The Mallard also holds 4 beer festivals each year – the cellar bar area is opened up and serves a further 16 hand-pulls, this in addition to the 4 upstairs!
