Sportsman Beerhouse, Huddersfield

The Sportsman Beerhouse is only a short walk from Huddersfield station and is well worth visiting alongside the two station pubs. Built in 1930 and refurbished in the 1950s, it has a lovely traditional interior, with a sweeping curved wooden bar, comfortable side rooms and plenty of character. Run by independent pub group Beerhouses, it has been recognised for its historic interior. Eight cask ales are normally available, including changing beers from local breweries, along with real cider. There is also a beer garden for warmer days. I visited during my Huddersfield and Brighouse trip.
