Huddersfield has three real ale stops on this trail. The Head of Steam and King’s Head sit within the railway station, while the Sportsman Beerhouse is a short walk away. All three can be visited together before continuing towards Mirfield.

Getting to Huddersfield

Train: Huddersfield is a major junction on the route, with services towards Marsden and Stalybridge to the west, and Mirfield and Dewsbury to the east. Check current engineering work before travelling.

Walk: Head of Steam and King’s Head are at the railway station. Sportsman Beerhouse is roughly 250 metres from the station.

About Huddersfield

The Grade I listed station stands on St George’s Square. Two of the featured pubs are located within the station buildings, with a third nearby on St John’s Road.
