The Two Halves opened in 2015 on the seafront and occupies a former shop, embracing the town’s micro-pub movement—small, community-focused venues serving real ale and craft beer. Its name nods cleverly to both a pint measure and Margate’s own story of decline and revival. The pub quickly became a local favourite, championing independent breweries and fostering conversation over background music. With panoramic sea views and a welcoming atmosphere, The Two Halves has become part of Margate’s cultural regeneration, embodying the town’s blend of heritage, creativity, and a renewed sense of place.

Inside it’s cosy, relaxed, and all about the beer. The space is small but welcoming, with wooden tables, stools, and big front windows that look straight out to sea which is perfect for a sunset pint. There’s no blaring music or TVs, just the hum of conversation and the clink of glasses. The chalkboard behind the bar lists rotating real ales, craft beers, and ciders, often from local breweries. It’s the kind of place where you chat with strangers or the bartender about what you’re drinking. Simple, friendly, and all about good vibes and quality pours.

Drink Offerings – 5 Real Ales alongside a number of ciders.
