Warton

Warton, just north of Carnforth, is a pretty old village that’s been around since medieval times and was once a handy stop on the old north–south route. It’s best known for St Oswald’s Church, where you can see the Washington family coat of arms — the family line later led to George Washington. Just above the village is Warton Crag, a limestone hill with brilliant views over Morecambe Bay and some great walks.
