The Bookmakers opened in 2019 in a former betting shop on Heysham Road. The name keeps a link with the building’s previous use, while the conversion gave the shop unit a new life as a small independent pub. It quickly became a regular local meeting place and an established stop on the Heysham part of the trail.
Inside, the pub is a single wedge-shaped room with a mix of seated and standing areas. There are a few softer chairs alongside stools and tables, while wood and metal details give the compact room plenty of character without making it feel crowded.
Beer: One regular cask ale and four changing cask ales.
