Carnforth was originally a small farming village by the River Keer, quiet and rural for centuries. Its story changed in the 1800s when the railway came — the town became an important junction, bringing workers, industry and new life. Today, its Victorian station is one of the highlights, known not just for its history but also for being featured in the classic film Brief Encounter, giving you a real sense of how transport shaped this place.
