The pub opened in 2019 on Marine Road Central and was previously known as Embargo. It changed to The Pestle & Mortar in 2026 after being taken over by the team behind The Dispensary in Heysham. The small seafront unit sits close to the site of Morecambe’s old pier and has views across the promenade.
Inside, the room is compact and open, with the bar facing the main seating area. The 2026 refit introduced a predominantly purple and white colour scheme, while the front windows keep the room bright and connect it with the seafront outside. There is also seating at the front overlooking Marine Road Central.
