Well, it’s nearly time for me to hit the big 4-0! On 10th November, I’ll be celebrating my 40th birthday, and naturally, there are a few pub adventures planned to mark the occasion!

🍻 A couple of birthday adventures

Just before my birthday, I’ll be heading over to Ilkeston and Heanor with a few friends for a day exploring some of the fantastic micropubs and independent pubs around the area. There should be plenty of good beer, a few familiar faces and, hopefully, some new places to share with you all.

Then, shortly after turning 40, I’m off to Paris for a few days with my brother. We’ll be exploring some French bars, sampling a few different beers and seeing what the beer scene has to offer across the Channel. Something a little different from my usual trips around the UK!

🍺 A little birthday shout-out

Over the years, Micropub Adventures has taken me all over the country, visiting some brilliant micropubs, traditional pubs and brewery taps, meeting some wonderful people along the way and sharing my experiences through the blog.

One of the things I enjoy most is knowing that people actually use my blogs to plan their own days out, discover somewhere new or find a little pub they might otherwise have missed.

Whether you’ve followed my adventures for years, regularly read the blogs, taken inspiration from one of my trips, used one of my Rail Ale Trails or simply found a new favourite pub through something I’ve shared, it really does mean a lot.

All my adventures are personally funded, and there’s also the cost of keeping the website and photos online so everything remains available for people to enjoy.

🍺 Fancy buying me a birthday pint?

With my 40th coming up, I thought I’d share my Buy Me a Pint link for anyone who might fancy treating me to a birthday drink!

There’s absolutely no pressure, but if my blogs have ever helped you plan a trip, given you ideas for somewhere to visit or just provided a bit of enjoyable reading, even a small contribution would be really appreciated.

Every bit of support helps towards website costs and future days out discovering and sharing some of the brilliant independent pubs and breweries we have around the country.

🍻 A big thank you

Most importantly, a huge thank you to everyone who has followed my adventures, shared my posts, recommended places to visit or stopped for a chat when we’ve crossed paths in a pub somewhere.

I’ve met some fantastic people along the way, and I’m looking forward to plenty more adventures, new places and good beers in my 40s!

Cheers everyone! 🍻
