About Gravesend
Gravesend sits on the south bank of the River Thames and has long been shaped by the river. Its town pier, river traffic and links towards London all played a big part in its growth, while the railway later made the town an important stop between the capital and north Kent. Today, the centre is easy to explore on foot from Gravesend station, with the High Street, riverfront and surrounding streets putting several independent pubs within reach.
