Gravesend – The Compass Alehouse

The Compass Alehouse, Gravesend

The Compass Alehouse opened on Manor Road in September 2014, becoming Gravesend’s first micropub. Set close to the town centre and railway station, it is an easy stop on the Thames & Medway Rail Ale Trail, with a changing cask range and real cider.

About Gravesend

Gravesend sits on the south bank of the River Thames and has long been shaped by the river. Its town pier, river traffic and links towards London all played a big part in its growth, while the railway later made the town an important stop between the capital and north Kent. Today, the town centre is easy to explore on foot from Gravesend station, with several independent pubs close together around the central streets.
