Since June 2023, the Ale House in the Middle of our Street has been a friendly local spot with a new lease of life. It reopened under new ownership after a brief closure, keeping its quirky name and welcoming feel. Set in a former office it’s got a relaxed, local feel and a bit of garden out back. Close to the Thanet Loop bus route and known for its community spirit, it’s the kind of place people come back to—not for flash or fuss, but because it just feels like home.
From the street, it’s got a simple, friendly look—nothing flashy, just a big front window and a quirky sign that makes people smile. Step inside and it’s all about the relaxed atmosphere: one small room, a corner bar, a few stools, and easy conversation. Out the back, there’s a little garden space where you can sit and relax when the weather’s nice. It’s unpretentious, local, and just feels like part of the local area.
