BUY ME A PINT

After a long journey down to Eastbourne, an evening visit around a brewery pub and bottle shop/taproom in Eastbourne following a bus ride out to Seaford to visit a Micropub on Seaford Railway station and a local pub.

The Belgian Cafe

Situated just off Eastbourne seafront is “The Belgian Cafe”. It is run by “Beer Me Brewery” who specialise in Belgian Style beers.

A great selection of keg beers ranging in styles, flavours and strengths. Several Belgian Style fruit beers were available, I went with the “Pink Grapefruit Pale Ale” at 4.8%, a great tasting twist on a fruit beer in a Belgian Style.

Beerarama

A short walk through town towards the Railway Station to visit “Beerarama”, a bottle shop and taproom. A friendly welcome here from Jamie. This bar opened in February 2022.

A great choice of local beers here (along with two from further afield). I went with the “Spin Drift IPA” from Gun Brewery based in Heathfield. A fruity and easy drinking IPA at 5.7%. A great range of cans, bottles and local spirits also available here.

Following here, a walk around the corner for the “12” bus out to Seaford.

Steamworks

First call here to “Steamworks”. A Micropub on Seaford Railway Station which opened in late 2017. Another pub with a great selection of local beers on both cask and keg, and great surroundings. Nice conversation with 2 gentlemen in here, one of which was a Brewer from Exeter.

3 cask beers and 6 keg beers available here, the majority of which were from local breweries. Two breweries id not seen before here so went with these. Starting off with “India Pale Ale” from Three Acre Brewery based in Uckfield, followed by “English Pale Ale” from Lakedown Brewery based in Burwash.

Some great railway themed memorabilia on the walls in here aswell. Really great to see!

Old Boot Inn

My last call in Seaford was to “Old Boot Inn”, a traditional pub serving food alongside a selection of real ales and ciders.

A choice of six real ales here (and about the same of ciders). Again mostly from local breweries. I went with “Project Babylon Pale Ale” from Gun Brewery. A tasty and hoppy beer.

A great outside area here aswell, at the other side of the pub.
